英国伯明翰市政委员会破产 旅居港人担心加税 英国第二大城市伯明翰市政委员会（Birmingham City Council）宣布破产，有旅居当地的香港人担心未来会加税。 据网媒“香港01”星期三（9月6日）报道，居住在伯明翰的梁先生说，一直有传闻伯明翰市政府有财政问题，英国很多地方都有类似情况，他指政府早年因最高法院就同工同酬作出裁决，导致不少索偿个案，造成政府负债。 梁先生说，政府每年会征收市政税（Council Tax），用于公共服务，过去一段时间他留意到街道上垃圾变多，清理变慢，估计政府未来会增加税收，以维持公共服务。 梁先生说，伯明翰市面反应平静，即使政府已叫停非紧急服务开支，英国当地人也没有太震惊。至于会否因为破产而影响留英信心，他指其实英国城市各有困难，财政都不算稳健，未来可能会楼价下滑，但由于仍然有需求，相信“跌一跌都即刻有人托市”。 同样居住伯明翰的港人Irene表示，街道早前曾堆积垃圾，不知是否与公共开支有关，当地港人最担心是否会增加市政税，“日常公共服务可能有影响，不过大家始终关心荷包”。她又称，英国经济大家“心里有数”，但英国政府有完善机制，不会影响信心。 港人吴小姐说，伯明翰的市政税年年都有加，近期一些政府服务热线也无人接听，暂时不知道政府会如何处理。 据英国《金融时报》报道，伯明翰市政委员会星期二（9月5日）宣布破产，成为最新一个宣布今年无法实现收支平衡的英国地方政府机构。伯明翰是英国第二大城市，市区人口超过100万。
